As you may have seen in my review of Laynes Espresso, an independent coffee shop in Leeds, I included some photos which were taken by a kind gentleman who was a cameraman. I was close by and overheard them mentioning camera angles and shooting something – this caught my attention. I was writing a review of Laynes and wanted some photos of my outfit. For about 20 minutes I was debating whether to ask them to take a photo of me. I got up the courage and asked and they kindly accepted, taking photos at different angles and giving me a range of shots to choose from. As this website is in its early stages I am still figuring out how to be creative and take the best shots I can. The passion I have for photography and journalism was in part what gave me the courage to ask that favour. Sometimes all it takes is a moment to push those nerves aside and remember what you are passionate about and eventually your self-confidence will build.
‘Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be obtained.’
